Antique Japanese Kamo Kimono Tansu — Kirinoki, 1920s, Taishō Era (SKU 25M-A316)
Whispers of silk and tradition behind quiet sliding doors

This elegant kamo tansu (加茂箪笥) hails from the Taishō era, originally crafted to store silk kimono and ceremonial garments in the Kyoto region. Today, it stands as both a striking statement piece and a functional modern cabinet. Its clean lines and vertical cedar grain radiate a serene simplicity, while its fine craftsmanship evokes the grace of a bygone world where artistry lived in everyday use.

At its center, a delicately embossed crest motif shimmers with gold leaf, flanked by twin red silk tassels that once protected the dignity of heirloom textiles. Inside, spacious shelves provide ample room for modern living — now ideal for housing glassware, books, or cherished treasures. Elevated on a custom black iron base, this piece has gracefully adapted to the present while holding fast to its past.
