This is a 2 section antique Japanese stacking chest called Kiri Kasane Tansu. It is made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood from middle Meiji period (1880's-1890's). Originally used for kimono storage, it would make a great contemporary dresser or linen cabinet.
Each section can be used separately for versatility or stacked together to save space and it has carrying handles to easily move from place to place.
