Antique Japanese Ikabana Flower Bamboo Basket (SKU 25D-471-1)
Slender Taisho-era bamboo ikebana basket with removable black bamboo liner
This antique Japanese flower basket is woven in an elegant, tapering silhouette from warm, patinated bamboo strips, cinched at the waist with a finely braided band. The open-slat construction allows light to pass through the structure, giving seasonal arrangements a sense of air and movement prized in traditional ikebana.
A separate, glossy black bamboo cylinder serves as an inner water container, making the piece practical for fresh flower display while preserving the integrity of the outer basket. Subtle wear and color variation in the bamboo speak to its Taisho-period origins and add depth and character, making this a refined accent for a tokonoma alcove or contemporary interior.
