This is an antique Japanese wooden lacquer set of stacking food presentation boxes called Jubako dated Taisho period (1910's-1920's).
It is nicely lacquered with Chinkin technique of design of beautiful peony.
Chinkin technique is that carving a surface of lacquerware in order to put gold powder in the grooves.
It will be a great home decor.
