Antique Japanese Statue Of The God Ebisu, Bronze (SKU 25D-291-2)

Finely cast Meiji-era bronze of god Ebisu, signed to the robe

This charming antique Japanese bronze captures a Ebisu standing barefoot on a rocky riverbank, playfully tethering a lively fish. The dark patinated surface is smoothly worked on the figure, contrasted by the crisply chased scales and fins of the fish, evoking the movement of water and the auspicious symbolism of koi in Japanese art.

A neatly carved rectangular signature cartouche appears on the side of the boy’s robe, attesting to the work of a skilled Meiji metalworker. The composition, with its flowing base and dynamic fish, makes this an ideal focal piece for a tokonoma alcove or a refined bronze statue collection, bringing a sense of play, prosperity, and classic Meiji craftsmanship to any interior.

We use professional studio lighting to highlight the natural character of the wood. As a result, the tone may appear slightly warmer than under natural daylight.

All vintage and antique items are sold as-is. Each piece may exhibit signs of age, including scratches, wear, or minor imperfections. These are not considered defects but natural evidence of the item’s authenticity and age.
