Antique Japanese Panels Screen Divider (SKU 25D-446)

Showa-era four-panel bamboo and wood partition with refined latticework detail

This antique Japanese four-panel screen, or byōbu, combines a warm hardwood frame with finely strung bamboo slats in a rich reddish tone. The vertical rhythm of the bamboo is gently broken by meandering decorative cords, creating a subtle, wavering pattern that recalls ripples on water and lends a soft, tranquil presence to any interior.

Along the lower registers, each panel is accented with a hand-carved openwork lattice reminiscent of traditional kumiko joinery, while the top rail features an airy geometric cut-out that lightens the silhouette. Hinged construction allows the screen divider to fold and stand in multiple configurations, making it ideal as a room divider, a backdrop for a tokonoma-style display, or an elegant way to introduce Japanese Showa-era design into modern spaces.
