This is vintage Japanese Ranma, transom with carvings of cranes and Japanese pine motif from Taisho period (1910's-1920's). 

This motif is known for very auspicious motif in Japan.

Transoms are used for ventilation and lighting above sliding doors between Nihon-ma, Japanese room. 

It is ideal for bedroom headboard, as a picture in your living room.
