This is an authentic modern Japanese Obon, tray.
It is made of sukura, cherry bark which is famous craft in Kakudate in Akita prefecture. Known as the famous craft of Kabazaiku, it requires much time and patience to produce art objects of this quality and stunning examples features quarter-sawn solid cherry wood in different grains.
The top corner is slightly lifted and the surface has 2 different textures.
It is perfect for your table matt on your dining table.
