This is an antique Japanese 2 section stacking kimono chest called Kasane Isho Tansu.

It was made using 100% Paulownia (Kirinoki) wood dated Middle Meiji period (1880's - 1890's).

All iron fittings are hand made and have amazing handles and large rounded lockplates in the middle.

Originally used for the storage of kimono in Japan, this chest would make a great clothes dresser or an elegant storage unit in any home decor.
