This is a vintage Japanese home Shinto Shrine called Yashiro, Omiya, or Kamidana made of Japanese Crypress (Hinoki) wood from mid.1900's.

This was expertly hand crafted in full detail and the ceiling has expert architectural craftsmanship and the design is a scaled down version of a full sized shrine.  It comes with an original curtain and mirror with stand behind doors.

Shinto shrines were often used in Japanese homes to present offerings to the Gods. Large Kamidana can also be seen in neighborhood corners where residents and families donated to the construction and placement of these shrines for all to worship and enjoy. It will be an great addition to your collection.
