This is vintage Japanese Ranma, transom with wooden carvings of Chiku bai,bamboo and plum motif from mid.1900's. Transoms are used for ventilation and lighting above sliding doors between Nihon-ma, Japanese room. 

It is ideal for bedroom headboard, partition, divider or as a picture in your living room.
