This is an vintage Japanese Ranma, wooden transom made of natural wood from early Showa period (1940's).

It has beautiful cut-out of bamboo and tree sparrow.

Transoms are used for ventilation and lighting above sliding doors (Fusuma) between Nihon-ma, Japanese room. 

It is ideal for bedroom headboard, as a picture in your living room.
