This is a vintage Japanese Ranma,wooden transom with carvings of  beautiful scenery  from early Showa (1920's-1940's).

Transoms are used for ventilation and lighting above sliding doors between Nihon-ma, Japanese room. 

It is ideal for bedroom headboard, as a picture in your living room.
