Vintage Japanese Nagoya Mizuya Tansu Kitchen Chest 2 Section (23O-E210)
This is a vintage Japanese Nagoya Mizuya, two section Kitchen chest from the Taisho period (1910's - 1920's).
The elegant color tones of this tansu come from Cypress (Hinoki) and Cryptomeria (Suginoki) woods.
Hinoki wood is commonly used for its beautiful golden brown hues and its clean grain that makes it appealing for furniture and design accents.
Mizuya Dansu was used in the kitchen of a Japanese household for the storage of plates, utensils, food items and especially large pottery jars of water since running water was not readily available in the home.
This beautiful tansu is perfect for any kitchen, dining room or living room.
