This is a vintage 2 section Japanese Tea chest called Cha Tansu from early Showa period (1940's).
It is made of Horse Chestnut (Tochinoki), Paulownia (Kirinoki) and other woods.
It features glass on its main display doors, a mini Tokonoma (tea ceremony alcove), a pair of sliding doors, and a complementing display stand that represents clouds in the sky.
