Our handcrafted merchants chest made of Paulownia wood (known in Japanese as kiri), this environmentally friendly fast growing wood is very light weight, fine-grained, soft, and warp-resistant.   Fine detailing including dovetail joinery throughout, and traditional iron hardware make this chest a handsome and practical addition to most any interior.  Ideal for organizing crafts, office supplies, or jewelry.  This tansu features a removable shelf behind a pair of removable sliding doors and two exposed drawers.
