This reproduction 2-drawer Japanese kimono tansu is crafted from solid kiri wood, offering the perfect blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern functionality. Available in either a teak or clear finish, the natural beauty of the kiri wood grain is highlighted, giving the tansu a timeless appeal. The drawers are fitted with undermount soft-closing glides, ensuring a smooth and quiet operation. The upper drawer features a decorative lock plate with a latch that moves up and down to keep the drawer secure, adding an authentic touch to its design.

Traditionally, kiri wood (Paulownia) has been favored for kimono tansu due to its lightweight, durable, and insect-resistant properties, making it ideal for safely storing delicate fabrics like silk. In addition to its practical benefits, kiri wood’s natural insulation and moisture control help preserve the contents stored inside, which is why it's been used for centuries in Japan.

Each piece measures 36" W x 18" D x 18" H, and multiple units can be stacked to create a taller dresser, offering versatility in storage and design. An optional metal stand is available, adding a contemporary touch and elevating the piece for a more modern presentation.
