This is an authentic Japanese Goban,Go board used for Igo game from mid.1900's.

Go is an abstract strategy board game for 2 players using black and white Goishi stone.

Every Go boards are made for natural wood which show different characters made by skillful artisans and this Go board is made of Kaya wood (Japanese nutmeg-yew or Torreya Nucifera).

Kaya is the one of the best wood for Go board because of its adequate softness, beautiful grain patterns, color, shine.
