This is an antique Japanese 2 section merchant store display chest called Kazari Mizuya tansu from 1900 to 1910 (late Meiji era). Used to display shop wares it features sliding glass doors to showcase collections of all sorts. The row of bottom drawers and additional shelf were used to store additional inventory.
It was made out of Cypress (Hinoki) and Cryptomeria (Suginoki) woods.
It will be perfect to store dishes, pots of water, and eating utensils as well as showcase since it comes with sliding glass doors.
