Antique Japanee Shonai Isho Kimono Tansu 2 Section (22J-B113-A)
his is a 2 section antique Japanese stacking chest called Shonai Kasane Tansu from Middle Meiji period ( 1880's - 1890's). It is from Shonai region and was entirely made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. The detailed iron fittings were all hand made which adds to the beautiful design of this lovely chest.
Originally used to store Japanese kimono, obi and accessories, its present day use works well for clothes storage in the bedroom or linen storage in the living room or dining room of a contemporary home.
