This is a vintage Japanese Ko Tansu, small chest from Taisho period (1910's-1920's), made of Paulownia Kirinoki) wood.
The Ko tansu is a very versatile chest. In Japan it had many different uses depending on style, design, or wood type. The compact size and combination of different size of drawers makes this piece a great addition for a desk, living room, or anyplace that needs a small piece to add interest and store your various accessories!
