This a vintage Japanese 2 section tea chest called Cha Tansu from early Showa period (1940's). It was constructed out of Zekova (Keyaki), Horse chestnut (Tochinoki) and Paulownia (Kirinoki) woods.
This cabinet was used to store tea sets and items used for tea service to entertain guests.
There are enough storage and display as well as an attractive and beautiful Keyaki wood grain.
