Description

This is a vintage Japanese 1 section small tea chest called Ko Cha Tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1920's).  It was made using Persimmon (Kakinoki), Paulownia (Kirinoki) and Cryptomeria (Suginoki).  

Originally used to store accoutrements for tea service, it would work well in today's home as a side table or personal storage chest.
