This is an antique Japanese 2 section kimono chest called Kasane Tansu from the mid Meiji period (1880's-1890's). It was constructed out of Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) and the iron fittings were all hand made.
Originally used for kimono storage, it would make a great contemporary dresser or linen cabinet. Each section can be used separately for versatility or stacked together to save space.
