Vintage Japanese Ko Tansu Small Chest (23M-G101)

This is a vintage Japanese personal storage chest called Ko Tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1902's).  It was used to store letters, documents, books and other items for daily use.  It was constructed using 100% Paulownia wood (Japanese Kirinoki).

It has many shallow drawers which is very practical to store papers and art works.

Contemporary uses for this piece include placement on a desk for additional office storage, using this as an elegant side table or placing it next to a bed for the perfect nightstand.
