Vintage Japanese Cha Tansu Tea Chest 2 Section (23O-C223)

This is a vintage 2 section Japanese tea chest called Cha Tansu from Taisho period (1910's-1920's).

It was constructed out of Maple (Momiji), Horse Chestnut (Tochinoki) and Paulownia (Kirinoki) woods. 

The fine details incorporated into this piece include a hinged glass door display, fancy wood, a backwards "S" style shelf invoking the image of a cloud, a slatted wood tray for teacup storage, beveled glass sliding doors and bronze hardware.  

In your living room, the combination of shelves, drawers, and sliding drawers make it perfect for wine glasses and other entertainment accessories for when you have company over.
