Japanese Sakura Bark Chabitsu Tea Container (23O-277-1)

This is an authentic Japanese Chabitsu lidded tea cup container from mid. to late 1900's.

It is made of sukura, cherry bark which is famous craft in Kakudate in Akita prefecture. Known as the famous craft of Kabazaiku, it requires much time and patience to produce art objects of this quality. 

Meant to slip handily under the table and be every ready to serve guests, this stunning examples features quarter-sawn solid cherry wood in different grains.

The lid has beautiful morning glory design, great home decor.
