Antique Japanese Hikidashi Tansu Drawers Chest (22S-E12) AS IS

This is an authentic antique Japanese merchant drawers cabinet called Hikidashi Choba Tansu from middle Meiji (1880's-1890's).  It was constructed from Cypress (Hinoki) and Cryptomeria (Suginoki) woods and the iron fittings were hand made.

The Choba Tansu was used almost exclusively by merchants and was traditionally used in stores and shops to impress customers and this tansu is used to store inventory.
