This is a vintage Japanese 2 section Kanto Mizuya Dansu , Kitchen chest from Kanto region is from the Taisho period (1910's-1920's). It is made of Zelkova (Keyaki), Cypress (Hinoki) and Cryptomeria (Suginoki) woods.
Mizuya Dansu was most likely used in the kitchen of a Japanese household for the storage of plates, utensils and food items. Since this chest has many types of drawers and cabinets, it is very useful for today’s modern kitchen to store dishes and utensils.
