Vintage Japanese Ko Tansu (22J-G117)

This is a small personal storage chest called Ko Tansu from Taisho Period (1910's-1920's).  It was made using 100% Paulownia wood (Kirinoki) and only comes with drawers.  Originally used to store small personal belongings, its contemporary use has remained unchanged.
