Antique Japanese Shinto Shishi Dog A Pair
This is a pair of antique Japanese Shishi (Koam Inu) guardian placed at the gate of shinto shrine. Shishi is translated as "lion” but it can also refer to a deer or dog with magical properties and the power to repel evil spirits.
There are some writings on the bottom "Hono" which means offering. There are some chips on the edges but considering their age they are in good conditions.
