This is an antique Japanese porcelain hibachi, brazier from Late Meiji period (1890's-1910's). It is decorated with Hyotan, gourds which is a symbol of good luck since it has similar meanings such as longevity, fecundity mystery. It also symbolizes plenty.
Inside of gourds also have various auspicious motif.
Originally used as a hand warmer, there are multiple contemporary uses for this piece such for use as a planter or for display.
