This is an antique Japanese wooden lacquer Kesho Bako, make-up box made of Keyaki (Zalkova) and Sugi (Cedar) wood from mid.Meiji period (1880's-1890's).
Flipping the top cover, there are 2 holes for a mirror stand which can be stored in the upper area. It has great color with Keyaki grains.
