This is an antique Japanese wooden lacquer stand called Ita ashi Takazen from middle Meiji period (1880's-1890's). Ita Ashi means panel legs and Takazen means tall tray/ stand. This is used for special occasions like weddig, new year to place food on top. It is decorated with auspicious motif on the Nashiji.
