This is an antique Japanese Kiri Hibachi, brazier made of paulownia wood from late Meiji period (1890's-1910's).
It has various flowers done by Makie with accent of Raden, mother-of-pearls. It come with a removable copper lining. There are some chips on the mother-of-pearls.
Originally used as a hand warmer, there are multiple contemporary uses for this piece such for use as a planter or for display.
