This is an antique Japanese 2 section stacking kimono chest called Kasane Tansu from Middle Meiji period (1880's - 1890's). 

It was constructed entirely out of Paulownia wood (Kirinoki).

Originally used for the storage of kimono in Japan, this chest is just simple beauty and would make a great clothes dresser or an elegant storage unit in any home decor.
