Antique Japanese Hibachi Shishi (22J-250)

This is an antique Japanese porcelain blue and white hibachi, brazier from late Meiji period (1890-19010's).  It is decorated with traditional scenery, Tama Shishi Botan, shishi with ball and peony which has very auspicious meaning.

Originally used as a hand warmer, there are multiple contemporary uses for this piece such for use as a planter or for display.
